Welcome to Hospice Waikato......a service for anyone who has been diagnosed as palliative where the emphasis is on comfort and pain relief.
Working from the Gallagher Family Hospice in Cobham Drive, Hamilton, Hospice Waikato has four models of care - all at no charge to our patients and their families/whanau:
* Hospice@Home team that visits private homes and provides a 24/7 service;
* The In-Patient Unit supported by the Perry Foundation, provides respite care, symptom control management and end of life care;
* Collaborative Care, provides the rural service for patients in partnership with the District Nursing staff; and
* Rainbow Place - our children and young people’s facility - Rainbow Place provides a unique child-focused, family-centred service and was the first of its kind established in New Zealand. As with all Hospice Waikato models of care, services are provided to children, teenagers and their families/whanau at no charge. Rainbow Place supports families through serious illness and bereavement.
We have support care from an interdisciplinary team of doctors, counsellors, social workers and many volunteers. We provide equipment as required.
